Debt Recovery Services

The Moreton Smith debt recovery service provides a natural escalation from credit control to third party collection.

The Moreton Smith Debt Recovery service is delivered through our multi-lingual debt recovery team with experience of successful debt recovery in over 120 countries worldwide. The service covers more than 20 languages and is supported by our in-house Para-legal team. The debt collection service is geared toward amicable recovery of overdue debt, which is achieved through our Reason-Resolution-Remittance solution.

Reason:
Establish contact by communicating to the customer in their local language through professional collection calls and interactive communications. Identify why the account has not been paid and resolve any outstanding disputes.

Resolution:
Remove all obstacles for payment delay and apply an incentive to issue payment such as avoidance of debt registration on the international Late Payment Register or prevention of further action through local lawyers.

Remittance:
Secure proof of payment on an agreed payment date to include interest and costs where applicable.

Ledger Clearance

The Moreton Smith debt collection service can be implemented on a ledger clearance basis to maximise financial year-end revenue collection. Ledger Clearance can also be used at intervals during the financial year as a debt clearance facility to maintain regular debt management of recalcitrant customers.

Structured Debt Recovery

The structured escalation of aged debt within the collection cycle will release your internal collection team to concentrate on early phase rapid cash collection to improve DSO. Moreton Smith will recover additional interest and costs to counteract the cost of late payment and bring historic slow paying customers back to paying within terms. Our professional approach to debt recovery will result in improved cash collection results without affecting your customer relations.

The Late Payment Register

The Late Payment Register provides debtors with online access to view the details of their registered defaults.

The register is fully interactive and allows debtors to settle outstanding debts and to have defaults removed from the register.

Translated in seven languages the register is an international database and is often the only effective collection tool where debtors are located in foreign jurisdictions with slow and expensive court systems.

The Late Payment Register is available as part of the Moreton Smith debt recovery service.
